Match Confidence is a value with a range of 1 to 100, that indicates how likely are the records within a matched group to be duplicates.  The higher the value, the more likely that the duplicates are accurate.

You can also use this setting in several places to limit how many duplicate groups are viewable at any one time.  This is useful to organizations starting with high duplicate counts to work through their deduplication process.
