Sometimes when merging or updating records we need to update records which Owners are inactive.


Follow the steps below to enable update for records with inactive owners.


Enable “Set Audit Fields upon Record Creation” and “Update Records with Inactive Owners” User Permissions in Salesforce.

1. Go to Setup | Enter “User Interface” in the Quick Find box | Select User Interface | Enable “Enable "Set Audit Fields upon Record Creation" and "Update Records with Inactive Owners" User Permissions”:

2. Go to Setup | Enter “Profiles” in the Quick Find box | Select Profiles | Edit user profile and enable “Update Records with Inactive Owners” User Permissions:
