Report/Widget on how many records merged by dataset (grouped)

Would love to be able to report on how many records have been merged over a set time by dataset, so that I can report back to management on how the team are progressing.
Currently I am using the Merge History widget on the dashboard, but it displays each day, and I have to manually add the days together to get the total amount for say the month, or quarter.
On the Duplicates History widget there is an option to Group data, but there is no option for that on the Merge History widget.
